Watercolour on watercolour paper

During the dreary grey days of winter on the West coast of Canada, the appearance of these colourful pine grosbeaks lends a bright blush of colour.  This is a typical view out our livingroom window and was the inspiration for this painting of the grosbeak adorning an evergreen branch.  This was the subject of this year's virtual Christmas card.
